Unfortunately, the Mac version of Excel doesn't contain the Evaluate feature, but you can still use the F9 trick below. You can find Evaluate on the Formulas tab of the ribbon (Alt M, V). Each time you click the Evaluate button, the "next step" in the formula is solved. The screen below shows the Evaluate window open and ready to go. This is a great way to "see" the logical flow of more complex formulas, and to troubleshoot when things aren't working as you expect.
